You don't need 10K steps. You don't need fancy gear. You just need to move your body through space a bit. This post is about walking when anxiety tries to glue you to the floor - and why the smallest steps still count.
But, here's the thing: walking doesn't fix anxiety. It just.... makes it a little less loud. And sometimes "less loud" is all you need.
When you walk, your brain gets tricked into slowing down. Your feet find a rhythm. Your breath finally remembers it doesn't have to sprint. You notice stupid things like the way the pavement cracks or how the air smells different today. It pulls you out of the storm in your head, even if it's just for ten minutes.
You don't need fancy shoes. You don't need 10.000 steps. You don't even need to call it exercise. Just put one foot in front of the other. Around the block. To the shop. Down the street and back. That's enough.
And if you miss a day? Who cares. You are not training for the Olympics. You're just giving yourself a tiny break from your own brain.
So yeah. Walking won't cure you. But it might give you five minutes of peace. And sometimes that's the win.
